Ubud was one of our must-visit areas of Bali when we visited in October 2017. Here are some of the things we did during our stay.
Tegalalang Rice Terraces
Tegalalang rice terraces is one of the most famous destinations to visit while you are in Ubud. It features absolutely beautiful layered rice terraces, which are perfect for a photo op!
Ubud Art Market
Ubud art market is filled with goodies like paintings, handmade crafts, traditional Balinese sarongs and the like. Ubud is after all the art capital of Bali!
Pura Taman Saraswati (Ubud Water Palace Temple)
The Water Palace in Ubud is absolutely gorgeous. It is dedicated to the Hindu goddess of of learning, wisdom and the river, Dewi Saraswati. Enjoy the views of the pink lotuses and water ponds.
Ubud Palace is a great place to visit while in Ubud town, as it’s on the main road. You’ll be able to see the Balinese architecture, which is well preserved here.
Campuhan Ridge Walk
For those of you who enjoy quieter attractions, this is for you! The Campuhan Ridge Walk takes you up to see the Campuhan rice terraces in Ubud, equally beautiful as the Tegalalang rice terraces. A short hike (around an hour or so) is required.
Tegenungan Waterfall is relatively easy to get to, compared to other waterfalls in Bali which are in the mountains or not publicly known.
Stay at a resort overlooking the jungle
No trip to Bali is complete without staying at a resort, and few things trump waking up to a view of the jungle whilst staying in a Balinese villa.
